Family journey to Switzerland with sports activities

Day 1-2
Departure from Geneva for Montreux, with a stop in Lausanne to visit the Olympic Museum, then Chaplin’s World Museum above Vevey. Take a tandem paragliding flight from the Rochers de Naye down to Montreux, and visit the Chillon Castle built on a rocky islet of Lake Geneva. Nights at Montreux Palace  5*.

Day 3 

Take the cable car up the glacial massif of Diablerets, at an altitude of 3,000 meters, to cross the Peak Walk suspension bridge. Then return to the Rhône Valley to bask in the thermal waters of Grand Hotel des Bains 4*

Day 4-5

Departure for Zermatt, to do a 2-hour hike passing over the longest footbridge in the Alps, 494 meters long. Then try the excursion to Gornergrat or Klein Matterhorn for summer skiing on the Theodul Glacier. It’s also possible to do a Via Ferrata and have some free time in Zermatt. Nights at Hôtel Riffelalp 5*.

Day 6-7

Participate in a guided geological walk on the crystal path in Binn Valley, before climbing to the Col du Grimsel to sleep in a legendary hotel. Visit the Grimsel dam, one of Switzerland's largest pumped storage hydro plants. You will also board the steepest open funicular in Europe to Gelmer Lake. Nights at Grimsel hospiz 4* and Hotel Handegg 3* or Hotel Giessbach 4*.

Day 8-9

Take a cable car to access the Trift Valley and reach the 170-meter long suspension bridge that swings above the Trift Glacier region. Drive to Interlaken and Gstaad, and do a hot air balloon flight over the Alps. Nights at Gstaad Palace Hotel 5*.

Day 10

Return to Geneva in the afternoon with a stop in Gruyères to visit the wonderful castle, the Tibetan Museum or the HR Giger Museum (with Alien sculptures). End of the tour.

Andréas Kressig, speaks English, German and Japanese. A graduate of the Geneva School of Visual Art, he has a particular interest in the aesthetics and spatial configurations of architectural spaces. He has made numerous solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland, France, Germany and Japan. He also works as a tour guide in Japan and Switzerland.
