PROGRAMM :

Day 1-3
Arrival in Geneva and city tour. Departure from Geneva to Montreux from where you will take the panoramic Golden Pass Train to reach the Bernese Alps. From Interlaken, climb to the Jungfrau on the highest train route in Europe and cruise on Lake Brienz.

Day 4-5

From Brienz, take a scenic steam train dating from 1892 up to the Rothorn. On the way down by cable car, pass through Entleburg, a Unesco Biosphere region rich in fauna and flora, and continue to Lucerne by train. Among the many opportunities for visits, you can choose between the Modern Art and the Transport Museum, an excursion to the top of the Rigi or up to Mount Pilatus.

Day 6-7
Leave the alpine landscapes for the peaceful views over Lake Constance. Between Schaffhausen and Constance, discover the spectacular Rhine Falls and take the river cruise to an old medieval village. Then continue by train to St. Gallen and visit the old town and the Baroque cathedral, with its admirable Abbey Library.

Day 8
A day is dedicated to the canton of Appenzell with its hills dotted with farms. Introduction to Appenzell folklore and traditions which are still very much alive.

Day 9-10
With the Voralpen-Express train followed by the Gotthard Panorama Express, you go through  the historic tunnel in the heart of the Alps and arrive in Lugano. In Ticino, enjoy a break with some great discoveries: walking along the olive grove paths, preparing a risotto in a typical grotto...

Day 11-12
Another grandiose journey: on board the Bernina Express, you cross the Graubünden mountains to St. Moritz. From there, explore the charming villages in Engadin: Zuoz, Guarda, Sils Maria...

Day 13-14
Last great scenic trip on board the Glacier Express: an adventurous route crossing the Alps in eight hours, between St. Moritz and Zermatt. The ascent to Gornergrat on the cog railway brings you to the grand finale with breathtaking views of the Matterhorn.

This tour will be a unique lifetime memory!
The program could be extended with some more time in each area; for instance in Lausanne with a visit to the Olympic Museum and a night at the famous Beau-Rivage Hotel; in Vevey with Chaplin’s Museum and a night at the Montreux Palace Hotel or a prolonged stay in St Moritz to enjoy more excursions in the beautiful Engadin.
It could be a 3-week tour or twice a 2-week tour.
